In partnership with Scott County Public Schools, the Regional Adult Education Program in Scott County and Workforce Investment Area 1, Mountain Empire Community College hosted the first Summer IT Academy in Scott County. GED Graduates of the Regional Adult Education, Gabe Gillespie and Howard Nunnally attended. The IT Academy explored a variety of the ways Information Technology is used on a daily basis and open opportunities for your future, including paid internships. Gabe and Howard earned 8 college ITE credits while getting to program robots, program Android Apps,and setting up networks for the local school system.
