For Alex Yarberry, completing her high school education was especially important. Upon moving to the area, Alex enrolled in GED classes at RACE1’s Scott County classroom in 2019.

She started attending morning classes and completed her English and social studies with ease. When she faced difficulty with math, Alex studied harder and started attending classes four times a week.

“Yes, it was hard, but I got it done.” Alex explained that graduating with her GED has given her a sense of pride and has changed the way she sees herself.

Alex sends a message of encouragement to anyone considering obtaining their GED. “Anyone can do it,” she said. Alex explained that although it can be difficult, anyone can earn their GED.

Alex graduated in December of 2019.
