We’d like to introduce you to one of our most recent additions to our marketing team, Ms. Telena Turner!
A native of Haysi, VA, Telena Turner, has interned with RACE1 since February. She loves creating content to connect, share resources, and send encouragement to potential students.
Telena is a first-generation graduate of UVA-Wise and is currently working towards her master’s in Communication and Advocacy at JMU, so she knows first hand the opportunities that Education can provide.
“In my own life, education has opened so many doors, and I am incredibly thankful for the wonderful teachers and mentors who have inspired me and pushed me to succeed. That’s one thing I love about RACE1–there are so many wonderful staff and instructors here to support students as they work towards their GED, workforce readiness, or computer literacy certification. The journey is not easy, but RACE1 strives to serve their students’ needs and to continually create opportunities for growth and success!”
